Gargantuan Green Grape and Sweet Tooth

Hey Everyone! Happy Easter! I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday.

Today I have a mani I did for yesterday. It was my pre Easter mani and it was a pain in the butt!

I started with OPI Gargantuan Green Grape is I believe from the 2005 Brights Collection. I alternated nails with Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth from their 2013 Sugar Rush collection.

Sweet Tooth has a great formula and application. I used two coats on most of my nails and three on a couple because I was being rushed and managed to mess some nails up.

Ok. I love the color of Gargantuan Green Grape but the formula was quite sheer and thin and it took four coats. I was not having fun with application at all.

For some reason I am big on the purple and green combination lately. Since I knew GGG would not show up over Sweet Tooth I did white tips on the purple nails. Sweet Tooth covered fine over GGG.

Since the white wasn't really looking right I dotted the tips with white and then the two main mani colors.

I hate when people rush me. I started the mani but didn't realize GGG was going to be so difficult with the need for four coats so I had to hurry. I covered up most of the dings with dots so you can't tell but I ended up messing up four nails.

I was pretty much over this mani before it was even done. I do like the colors though and it was a perfect Spring time Easter like mani.

I thought about doing bunny decals on it but I got lazy.

That's all for now :)

Candy Coated Mojitos

Hey Everyone!!! Another early day for me!!! I am excited. I came home, ate my lunch and played with some polish jewelry I am making. By played I really mean glued it together and took pictures. I have a bunch of crochet projects to catch up on but I am not really motivated to do them. I kinda just want to take a nap and be lazy lol.

Today I have a nice Spring time mani for you.

I started with a base of Essie Mojito Madness from the Summer 2012 Bikini So Teeny Collection. I am happy to report that the formula and application on this one was fine so not all Essie polishes hate me lol

I then did a coat of Essence We are All Bright from the Spring 2012 Season of Extremes Collection. I made it a funky french type mani by leaving the tips with just Mojito Madness.

I then I used Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth from the 2013 Sugar Rush Collection and striping tape to do the purple lines.

I honestly was going to do all the nails with lines but I did that part the next morning and didn't have enough time to do all my nails. I had to leave for work and thought that with just two done it looked kinda cool so I left it like that.

The Essence shimmer is really pretty. I actually thought of putting that on later when I was looking through my polishes for something to spice Mojito Madness up with. It was close to the green that comes in the duo so I knew it would work.

Sweet Tooth matches the shimmer perfectly!

Word of advice, do NOT play guitar with not completely dried nails. The dings that you see, especially in that middle finger nail, are because I was playing guitar before the polish dried all the way through. I am inpatient what can I say.

I am going to have to do another Easter mani tonight. I decided against a March Madness mani because I haven't done one yet and df is all superstitious about that type of stuff. If I do one and they loose I will NEVER hear the end of it.

That's all for now :)

Elevation Polish Liana

Hey Everyone!!! Work is so slow I figured what better time to start my post! I think we are going to get to leave early today so at least that is good news. I am debating going to the nail supply store if we get out early. I guess it depends how early lol I am definitely going to hit Walgreens on the way home to see if they have any new Sinful Colors displays lol Cheap thrills are always fun.

Today I have an awesome polish for you. I debated on buying this one when I heard it was being retired then I saw some swatches and HAD to have it. I am so glad I did!!!

Elevation Polish Liana. Look at that shimmer!!!

I took a ton of pictures of this polish and bottle because it is gorgeous. I also happened to catch the shimmer showing itself really strongly.

Liana is a really gorgeous light brown (taupe) with the pretty shimmer you see above. This baby shimmers red, gold and green!! It is far prettier in person than these pictures could ever show.

Df described this color as chocolate pudding with water in it. It is such a creamy chocolate yummy color. Yes, I want chocolate right now!! lol

I used three coats to make sure my Gelish mani was covered and because I was quite frazzled and stressed over my car overheating that day. My application was less than perfect.

Purdy shimmer.

Now mid way through the mani we decided to go get my car which was stranded in a parking lot. I filled a couple of jugs with water then went to go put it in the car to bring it home. In the process messed up my nails.

It wasn't a good mani night.

The polish was so pretty it makes up for the errors.

I love this color. It seems to still be in stock so if you want to get it I would do it fast before it is gone forever.

Sorry, had to cut this a little short. The boss just gave the go ahead to head home and I need to get moving before he changes his mind lol. It has happened before lol

That's all for now :)

Little Bunnies

Hey Everyone!!! I am going to make the chatter on this quick since I want to run up to the store. My car decided to overheat Monday which just sent the last couple days into crazy stress mode. Luckily the car is fixed, though it was expensive. I am so ready for the week to be over just so I can relax.

First up is a my last Gelish mani.

I wanted to do something Spring like so I chose Artsyfartsy Crafts glitter in Faerie Wing.

Faerie Wing is a gorgeous green that reminds me of Tinkerbell.

This time I used Gelish Ambience as the base and used Faerie Wing for the tips. Unfortunately Faerie Wing is really light and I think the slight pink of Ambience made the shade of Faerie Wing a little bit off. You can still see the soft green shade though.

Next time I will try Faerie Wing over a solid color just so I can see more of the green. I really think this is mani subtle and pretty.

I of course didn't leave it on too long before doing my next mani.

I used the Essence Blossoms etc polishes from Spring 2011 for this mani. The polishes from left to right are Bloom a Loom, My Yellow Fellow, A Hint of Mint, I Like and Forget Me Not.

I did skittles with all the polishes and then used the color on the previous nail to make dots.

I used the bunny image on plate BM-302 and stamped with Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris.

This bunny looks angry.

I am not used to doing skittles but having each nail a different color was kind of fun.

I didn't wait long enough on my left hand and some of the bunnies smeared a little.

It was a fun festive mani and the only one I have done this week that is for Easter. I need to get with the program and do some manis before Easter is over.

That's all for now :)

Virtual Violet

Hey Everyone!!! I must be the worst blog follower ever!! Some days I just don't get a chance to look at many blogs or I can look quickly but I don't get a chance to comment. THEN they all get backed up and I have 500 posts to catch up on and get overwhelmed. I just spent a couple of hours looking at blogs and didn't even make a dent in my list. I should be smacked with a shoe. Just know that I am reading your blogs and loving them but can't always comment on all of them.

I am not really feeling Easter this year so I might not have too many Easter manis. My son won't be home on Easter and df has to work anyway so it isn't going to be a big deal. I will have one for tomorrow and I already have Saturday and Sunday's manis planned but between here and then I have no idea what I am going to do. I am super sucked into March Madness right now too so I will probably be doing at least one basketball mani in there as well. I don't even LIKE basketball, much less college basketball but I keep getting sucked into these games and stressed out over them!! When the game starts I will pick a team and go with them and oh my lord they have me on the edge of my seats, usually I pick the underdog. I am a huge UM (Miami) fan and df is a Syracuse fan so I of course stress out over those two teams but now I am also heavily rooting for Florida Gulf Coast (gotta love an underdog). My stomach and nerves are very thankful there is a break in games until Thursday.

Anyway, I should probably talk about nails now!!

I did a full mani with China Glaze Virtual Violet after I used it for stamping. The Tronica collection was somewhat of a disappointment after the nail fanatics realized that it wasn't going to be as holographic and they had hoped. This collection unfortunately gets over looked because it is not a strong linear holo but it is really really pretty. Please ignore the red lobster hands in the picture above, it was taken inside and I couldn't get the colors to adjust properly.

I used two coats of Virtual Violet and then did a tape design on my ring finger using Zoya Trixie.

I took several pictures in the sunlight to show you how pretty this polish is even if it isn't as holographic as other polishes out there.

Such a pretty shade of purple and the holo just makes it that much prettier.

I took a ton of pictures because I really really love this polish.

Surprisingly the sun was out when I wore this mani. Usually holos make the sun hide for me.

I have no idea what I was really going for with the accent finger but I kinda like how it came out.

This polish is really pretty indoors as well.

I think Zoya Trixie is probably my favorite silver polish.

I should take out the rest of the colors from the Tronica collection and wear them all, especially since I won't be getting the new China Glaze Hologlam Collection for awhile.

So pretty.

That's all for now :)
